Bernice Mae Steinman was born February 13, 1922, at West Monroe, LA, to Elijah and Mary (Farrow) Bailey. She grew up and attended schools at West Monroe. On June 9, 1949, she married Arthur Steinman, at Key West FL. She lived in Washington, DC, Jacksonville, FL and Somers Point, NJ. She moved to Naples, Italy where she modeled and managed the Spears and Bacardi Fur Concessions and then moved to Columbia, MD, where she was in sales for Brooks Fashions. She had been a resident of Mitchell since 1994. She enjoyed fishing, gardening and crafts. She is survived by three daughters, Debby Spezzano and husband, Joseph of Mitchell, Barbara Robertson and husband, Frank of Ellicott City, MD, Lynda Strand and husband, Jack of Huron; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two brothers, Frank Bailey of IN, L.E. Bailey of CA, and one sister, Margaret Robinson of LA. She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters.
