Leslee William Burns was granted his angel wings on March 4, 2010, due to cancer. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends at the Veterans Administration Medical Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born September 14, 1953, at Hot Springs, SD, to Lester and Georgia (Armstrong) Burns. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps from 1971 until 1974. He moved to and made Mitchell, SD, his home in 1975. He was a welder, mechanic and semi truck driver. Leslee was a member of the Nazarene Church. He loved to fish. He also enjoyed meeting and sharing life stories with everyone he met. He always told a good story and was a gentle man. Although he was so frail, he gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. He loved all the time he got to spend with his grandkids. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him. Leslee is survived by his son, Brian Burns of Mitchell, SD; three daughters: Sonia Cramer and husband, Henry of Sioux Falls, SD, Jackie Boucher and husband, Paul of Worthing, SD, Ashley Burns of Fargo, ND; five grandchildren: Ashley Jacobs, Autumn Burns, Gabrielle Boucher, Paul Boucher Jr., William Burns; two brothers: Charles Burns of Plankinton, SD, David Burns and wife, Debbie of Dayton, NV; two sisters: Esther Church and husband, Ralph of Sacramento, CA, Robin Jenkins and husband, George of Rio Linda, CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Georgia Burns, and two brothers, Jackie Burns and Randall Burns.
